A very warm welcome

At The Queensmill Trust, we are utterly committed to the very best that can be achieved for children, irrespective of their starting points. Our specialism is autism and related special educational needs, and we are extraordinarily fortunate to have purpose-built, state of the art school buildings where we are able to create learning environments that are stimulating, highly personalised, while simultaneously therapeutic for all children and young people.

We have worked carefully and conscientiously to establish a reputation for solving the problems others cannot, for diagnosed children. We know that we need to be creative, empathetic and resilient as a staff group, to understand what motivates each individual and what distresses them. Knowing both, we are then able to utilise the very best evidence-based practice to achieve, with no limit to our aspirations. We have a diverse range of provision within the classroom and beyond.

We are keen to partner with mainstream schools, colleges, employers and respite facilities to create opportunities, and environments for students, outside the safety of their specialist school but closely connected, so that the expertise we have, can be maintained and shared where it is most needed. We are thoroughly committed to research and ongoing reflection in our practice, so that we evolve and adapt for the benefit of children; and staff too, so that all develop, thrive and excel.

We also know, and are extremely committed to the fact that parents and carers of children with an education health and care plan, have often had a complex and trying journey and that we must work sensitively with them to create the best outcomes for all.
